Apptix Recognized as 2006 Codie Award Finalist by the Software and Information Industry Association
On-Demand Service Management Platform Honored in the "Best Application Management Solution" Category
Herndon, VA, February 2, 2006
Apptix, a premier
provider of on-demand, managed messaging and
collaboration solutions for small and medium-sized
businesses (SMBs), announced today that its Apptix
On-Demand Service Management Platform was named a
finalist in the Best Application Management Solution
category of the Software & Information Industry
Association's (SIIA) 21st Annual Codie Awards. This
category recognizes the infrastructure, technology or
web hosting platform that best enables Software as a
Service (SaaS) or hosted applications.
The Apptix On-Demand Service Management Platform enables
self-administration and rapid rollout of hosted
messaging and collaboration applications. It eliminates
the requirement for SMBs to deal with multiple vendors,
costly infrastructure investments, and constant
maintenance and migration challenges. Furthermore, it
empowers non-technical users, which is critical to SMBs
that need powerful solutions without the related
complexity or expense of an in-house implementation.
Leading service providers, including Bell Canada, HP,
IBM and Savvis, have also recognized the Apptix
On-Demand Service Management Platform as an
industry-leading application management solution. These
service providers all deliver messaging and
collaboration solutions to the SMB market on the Apptix
platform.
"The 21st Annual Codie Awards continue the tradition of
honoring the best of the software, information and
education technology industries," said Ken Wasch, SIIA
President. "With competition fiercer than ever before,
being named a Codie Awards Finalist is a significant
achievement."
Established in 1986, the Codie Awards remain the
standard-bearer for celebrating outstanding achievement
and vision in the software, digital content and
education technology industries. This year's finalists
were selected from more that 1,026 nominations submitted
by more than 500 companies - breaking the nominations
record set in the 2005 awards.
The first round of judging for the Codie Awards was
conducted by representatives from across the software
industry, including subject matter experts, trade press,
consultants, and analysts. Winners will be determined
based on voting by SIIA member companies during April
2005, with winners being announced at the 2006 Codie
Awards Gala on May 16 at the Westin St. Francis Hotel,
San Francisco, Calif. For a complete list of the 2006
Codie Award finalists, please visit: http://www.siia.net/codies/2006/finalists.asp.
"The Codie awards program showcases the finest products
and services in our industry," said Amir Hudda, CEO of
Apptix. "Our selection as a finalist further
demonstrates the excellence of our service management
platform, a key differentiator in the delivery of hosted
messaging and collaboration services."
