System Requirements

Please note the technical requirements to use the Apptix VoIP service. If you have questions regarding these requirements, Apptix specialists are available to discuss your options at any time. 

  • High Speed Internet Connection: High-speed cable or DSL connection to the Internet is preferred.
  • Bandwidth: The amount of bandwidth your organization needs will vary depending on both your current Internet usage and the number of calls being made at the same time. (Typically, voice traffic requires 85Kbps of bandwidth per call.)

  • Apptix Voice Certified Telephones: IP telephones are also needed to use the service. A software-based (softphone) IP phone on a PC equipped with a microphone and headset is an option.

  • Supported Call Router: A voice traffic router is recommended when there are more than five users at one office location. This router will enable you to best utilize your existing bandwidth and maximize your voice quality by prioritizing voice traffic over data traffic on your network.
